National Laboratory of Nutrition Science (NLNS) operates as a scientific division under the Royal Canadian Academy of Nutritional Sciences, serving as the Academy’s primary facility for analytical testing, methodological research, and evidence-based evaluation. In addition to supporting the Academy’s internal research programs, NLNS functions as an independent third-party laboratory, providing accredited testing services to external institutions and research partners.
The Laboratory’s current analytical portfolio encompasses a range of human health and nutritional biomarker assessments, including trace mineral profiling, food intolerance analysis, cellular inflammation assays, breast-milk composition and quality evaluation, and other advanced biochemical and physiological testing methodologies. NLNS also conducts efficacy and functional assessments of natural health products, raw material characterization, and specialized investigational analyses aligned with emerging research needs.
In 2019, NLNS established a formal scientific certification framework to evaluate and recognize natural health products that meet defined standards of quality, safety, and functional evidence. To uphold scientific integrity, impartiality, and methodological transparency, all certification procedures are executed through independently qualified third-party agencies.
Within the Greater China region, certification administration and collaborative testing services are exclusively facilitated by Macau YiXin Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
Guided by rigorous scientific principles and international laboratory standards, the National Laboratory of Nutrition Science is committed to advancing research in human nutrition, improving analytical methodologies, and supporting the development of scientifically substantiated natural health products.
